Christianity was founded out of the backlash against the assassination by the Roman Empire, of a man who spoke the truth - Jesus Christ.

Christianity then proceeded to be subverted and twisted for the empowerment of the Churches and governments.

It was not just the followers of Christ that refused to worship the Roman Gods who were fed to the lions and slaughtered for the entertainment of the wealthy in the arenas of Rome.  It was also those labeled traitors to Rome, trouble makers, runaway slaves, Roman army deserters, criminals and those guilty of antisocial behavior.
